Vision

All California women will have lower mortality from breast and cervical cancer, greater dignity, and freedom of choice and increased health care options.  We will accomplish this by informing women of the importance of early detection, by developing responsive, comprehensive and accessible breast and cervical cancer services and by mobilizing local communities to advocate for research, prevention (healthy lifestyle), awareness, screening, and treatment of breast and cervical cancer as a community priority.

Mission

The mission of Partnered for Progress is to educate, inform, and empower women to save lives from breast and cervical cancer by ensuring a seamless health care process through developing and advocating for a comprehensive, coordinated community system which offers culturally relevant outreach and education; and complete and timely breast and cervical cancer screening, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up.

Philosophy

We, Partnered for Progress, the Los Angeles County Regional Cancer Detection Partnership, believe that all California women must have full access to health care education, screening, diagnosis, and treatment for breast and cervical cancer.  We believe that by empowering women with information, support, and advocacy, by educating health care providers, and by raising public consciousness we will be able to deliver comprehensive services that are respectful, sensitive, compassionate and of the highest quality.  The results of these efforts will be the reduction of breast and cervical cancer mortality.

We recognize that achieving maximum health status for women requires that we employ a wide variety of strategies.  Through our regional partnership, we will forge relevant outreach methods, develop systems, and implement strategies that reduce barriers.  Thus, women are empowered to gain greater access to care unimpeded by race, spoken language, age, socioeconomic status, geographical location, sexual orientation, spiritual beliefs or practices, or any other characteristics that would act as a barrier to health care.  Our local communities will be mobilized to support breast and cervical cancer education, services, and advocacy as a public health priority.
